We are having a beautiful autumn here in Gero!
Accounting Dinner II
The one in May was so fun, we had a second one on Thursday night! The menu was a hodgepodge of Osaka pancakes, nabe, noodles, pizza, and popcorn (it got weird), but everyone seemed to have a good time. Thanks for all of the pictures Therese! (cont’d)
Immigration
The final visa paperwork arrived this week (Certificate of Eligibility, etc) and after a quick trip to the immigration office in Gifu our status has officially been upgraded to ”intra-company transferee”. It only took months and months of paperwork but I am glad it was successful. Sitting in a room at customs after a 14 hour plane [...]
Michiko-san & Therese-san
A mini wrap-up from Michiko-san & Therese-san’s visit! This was Therese-san’s first visit to Japan, but even though it was a whirl-wind for her, she was able to help us out tremendously. (She might even have “gozaimasu” figured out.) (cont’d)
Our first close
Michiko-san and Therese-san joined forces with Endo-san and Noijiri-san this week. ありがとうございます to all of them for their insight and hard work. It is very much appreciated. Check out the close-of-books celebration cheer:
Accounting Dinner
The Gecko Mansion hosted the Accounting team on Thursday night. It was a lot of fun and included a surprise chef! The Iron Chef’s new-to-us dishes will be put on permanent rotation. (cont’d)

Spring Cleaning & Hanami
We had a great time at the Annual Spring cleaning of the factory grounds on Saturday. After some pulling of weeds and sweeping, we got together and grilled out. Hanami is a Japanese tradition involving outdoor parties and enjoying the beauty of the flowers. It was a lot of fun! Also today (4/29) starts “The [...]
Joe
A dear friend and coworker from WPC passed away on Thursday, and though we cannot be at his service today, we are thinking about him and his family. Joe was the nicest, kindest, most easy-going man I have ever known. If only we were all just a little bit more like Joe, no one would [...]
Yamagata-San returns…
Sounds like a movie title, but then again not really. To help ring in the new year, Yamagata-san visited our facility to give a company speech. His speech centered around unity and harmony.
